Katelyn Jones, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Katelyn Jones was born and raised in Central Florida and grew up loving spending time with animals and enjoying the Florida outdoors. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Central Florida where she was a LEAD Scholar and then went on to attend the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine where she obtained her doctorate in veterinary medicine and additional certifications in Veterinary Business Management and Dentistry. She also obtained her Fear Free Certification in veterinary school and maintains her certification, now being a Fear Free Elite Certified Professional, and strives to provide a fear-free experience to all pets she works with. Although her specific interests in veterinary medicine include dentistry, oncology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and veterinary forensics, she thrives in general practice where she can see a little bit of everything!

Dr. Jones’s true niche in veterinary medicine is working with small animals, but she also loves seeing exotic companion mammals and reptiles. When working with these animals, she focuses much of her energy on client education to ensure that families can actively participate in their pet's treatment plans. While she primarily practices Western medicine and strives to immerse herself in continuing education to learn what is new in veterinary medicine and implement that into her daily practice, she also finds joy in integrating Eastern practices of medicine into treatment plans to provide the best care possible to her patients.

Outside of work, Dr. Jones enjoys traveling when she can, spending time with friends and family at local breweries, attending concerts, and spending time outside on the boat, ATVs, or jet-skis. She otherwise spends her time volunteering (specifically with Relay for Life), teaching pre-veterinary students, and spending time with her at-home zoo which consists of a mixed-breed dog she rescued named Dodger, two foster-failure kittens named Taz and Mojo, and a ball python named Aerys (named after a character from her favorite show, Game of Thrones).
